THEY ARE COMING
LOGLINE
A conflict arises between city residents and wild boars in European urban areas, as a boar killer and a defender of human-boar communications clash over whether to cull the animals or seek a path for humans and boars to peacefully coexist.
SYNOPSIS
Delving into the rising tensions between city residents and wild boars infiltrating European urban landscapes, the film vividly captures the neighborhood life of locals taken by surprise at the sudden arrival of these enigmatic newcomers. The proposed solution comes from Barcelona’s chief wild boar authority, who passionately believes that humans must take control, insisting that mass culling is the only viable approach. His methods, however, face resistance, particularly from an anthropologist who uncovers communities already living in shared spaces with the boars. Can humans and boars find common ground and learn to coexist peacefully?
